Reweaving Place into a Unified, Living District.

Panca Complex.

Location: East Jakarta, Indonesia
Area: 12000 sqm
Completion: 2024
Scope: Landscape Design Competition

This project was developed as a design competition entry and received a Merit Award for its strategic clarity and spatial resolution. The proposal responds directly to critical shortcomings in the existing site condition, including weak connectivity between residential areas and the commercial plaza, inefficient and confusing traffic and parking arrangements, limited green public spaces, a lack of meaningful attractions, and obstructed visual corridors caused by commercial units turning their backs on the primary driveway views.

The design consolidates the complex into a coherent, active, and sustainable community center through coordinated interventions. Traffic flow and parking are restructured to reduce conflict and improve clarity, pedestrian connectivity is strengthened to prioritize walkability and social exchange, and green spaces are expanded to restore ecological and spatial value. Activated plazas establish clear social anchors, while existing landscape elements are preserved to maintain site identity. A Scandinavian-inspired design language guides the project, emphasizing human scale, restrained materiality, and strong visual connections to the surrounding landscape.

Together, these strategies unify the residential and commercial areas into a legible, inviting, and durable community destination.
