REIMAGINING THE LANDSCAPE AS A CATALYST
FOR ENGAGEMENT, INTERACTION, AND DISCOVERY
Through thoughtful landscape design, we seek to dissolve these barriers and establish a sense of continuity and connection that fosters collaboration, engagement, and a sense of belonging among students, faculty, and visitors.

Current Condition
The Site nestled in the master‑planned BSD City (Edutown), the undergraduate campus spans approximately 8 hectares, blending academic buildings with green spaces, supporting a student body growing in STEM, business, and creative disciplines. The site includes multiple academic and administrative buildings—the William Soeryadjaja, Eka Tjipta Widjaja, Liem Sioe Liong, Sofjan Wanandi, and PMBS buildings—clustered around shared courtyards and open areas.
Currently, the campus appears fragmented, with buildings and faculties existing as separate entities rather than integrated components of a unified whole. Lack of Cohesive Landscape Identity; the campus has green elements, but they feel fragmented. There’s no unifying design language or spatial narrative tying the buildings, plazas, and open areas together—resulting in a landscape that feels secondary to architecture. Underutilized Open Spaces; while there are lawns and courtyards, many feel empty or ornamental rather than functional. They lack activation through seating, interactive features, or programming that encourages students to gather, study, or rest outdoors. The landscape does not yet serve as a learning tool or experiential environment. There are no clear outdoor classrooms, ecological signage, or thematic gardens that support Prasmul’s innovative academic spirit.

Reimagining the Landscape as a Catalyst for Engagement, Interaction, and Discovery.
Through thoughtful landscape design, we seek to dissolve these barriers and establish a sense of continuity and connection that fosters collaboration, engagement, and a sense of belonging among students, faculty, and visitors.
The heart of our design concept lies in the creation of a central axis lane or The Proceeding Lane that serves as the backbone of the campus, weaving together disparate elements into a cohesive tapestry of landscape and architecture. Adorned with lawn, and inviting gathering spaces, symbolizes the university's commitment to connectivity, progression, and exploration. This Proceeding Lane serves as the area for welcoming and celebrating student achievements.

Main Zones

Level Plan

The Proceeding Lane
A welcoming linear park that greets people upon arrival at the campus. The ceremonial feeling is created within the space and trees composition, symbolizes the spirit of freshman year and the celebrational graduation. This park connects The Active Frontyard and Learn & Meet zone while accommodate interactive social activities.

Learn & Meet
Immerse yourself in natural ambience created in this space to serve both psychological and ecological purposes. New designated bioswale supports stormwater management at the area and beautify the landscape at the same time. A photo spot with William building view provides an iconic scene which makes the space suitable for gathering, as well as learning and interacting around the site.

Campus Realm
This area includes several courtyards which connect to rectorate plaza, being interactive transitional spaces among buildings. With provided seating and gathering areas, students are able to actively interact and learn with their peers among pleasant, cozy lush atmosphere.
